ArtFest 2013 was a success!
All students celebrated The Arts on Friday, November 8.
We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all that helped to make our 2013 Artfest so successful. It is true that it takes a village to run this show. We were blessed to have many new performers this year including The Great Fettuccine , The Columbia Marionette Theater and a group from Broadway Bound. These programs each added a unique experience and contributed to the wide range of arts that our children were exposed to during the daylong celebration of the arts. And to say the least, we were thrilled to welcome back some of our regulars like Rhoda Paschal's A.C Flora Chorus and Porkchop Productions out of Aiken, SC. While we are thankful for BraveArts and our PTO for the funding to allow these performances, we are equally grateful for the many volunteers that helped to run the different activities during the day. The Related Arts team appreciates the support that we have from administrators and faculty who support these efforts and encourage us to come up with new and different opportunities for our students in the arts. Thank you again!
Third graders were visited by a few of Harriet Tubman's descendants. The entire grade was able to listen to stories about Harriet. Afterwards, one class was able to decorate quilt squares that will be turned into a quilt that will travel with a Harriet Tubman display.

This change goes into effect August 1, 2013.
Please see more details regarding this change on the main RSD1 website Home Page.
If you have questions or need a form to complete, please contact the school nurse.
